چکیده

The logical inference approach to quantum theory, proposed earlier De Raedt et al. (2014), is considered in a relativistic setting. It is shown that the Klein–Gordon equation for a massive, charged, and spinless particle derives from the combination of the requirements that the space–time data collected by probing the particle is obtained from the most robust experiment and that on average, the classical relativistic equation of motion of a particle holds. © 2016 The Author(s). Absorbing boundary conditions for relativistic quantum mechanics equations

This paper is devoted to the derivation of absorbing boundary conditions for the KleinGordon and Dirac equations modeling quantum and relativistic particles subject to classical electromagnetic fields. Microlocal analysis is the main ingredient in the derivation of these boundary conditions, which are obtained in the form of pseudodifferential equations. Basic numerical schemes are derived and ...

Further Difficulties with the Klein-Gordon Equation

Herein, the Dirac equation is compared with the KleinGordon equation. In contrast to the Dirac case, it is proved that the Klein-Gordon equation has difficulties with the Hamiltonian differential operator of relativistic quantum mechanics and with the definition of an inner product of wave functions, which is a requirement for a construction of a Hilbert space. An added discussion of the Pauli-...

Entropic Dynamics: an Inference Approach to Quantum Theory, Time and Measurement

We review the derivation of quantum theory as an application of entropic methods of inference. The new contribution in this paper is a streamlined derivation of the Schrödinger equation based on a different choice of microstates and constraints.

A Derivation of the Path-Integral Formalism of Quantum Mechanics from Probability Conservation along the Velocity Flows of Classical Particles

Denoting by v ̄ the velocity flow of a classical particle that is subject to a potential V , we demonstrate that the path-integral formalism of non-relativistic quantum mechanics can be obtained by superimposing wave functions that are solutions of a wave equation which in turn directly corresponds to the probability conservation equation div(ψ∗ψv ̄ ) = 0.

The Emergence of Anticommuting Coordinates and the Dirac-Ramond-Kostant operators

Gunnar Nordström died just a few years before the advent of quantum mechanics. It is is very interesting, but of course futile to speculate how he would have contributed to the new subject. His early attempts to increase the number of space dimensions [1] could very well have been very important for him when the spin degrees of freedom were understood. The birth of quantum mechanics in the 1920...
